FILTHY NELLY IS A SIX PIECE FOLKBAND FOUNDED IN 2005 IN THE NETHERLANDS. SINCE FORMING, THEY HAVE RELEASED TWO ALBUMS AND ONE EP. THEY HAVE PLAYED MANY SHOWS THROUGHOUT EUROPE, ESPECIALLY IN BELGIUM, FRANCE, GERMANY AND THE NETHERLANDS. THE BAND SHARED BILLS WITH THE LEVELLERS, SHANE MACGOWAN, THE TRANSSYLVANIANS, BLOOD OR WHISKEY & FIDDLER’S GREEN. FILTHY NELLY BEGAN AS A FOLKPUNKBAND BUT QUICKLY RESTYLED THE GENRE, MIXING GYPSY PUNK, REGGAE, ROCK, IRISH TRADITIONALS AND BALKAN INFLUENCES. THEIR THIRD ALBUM, “TRANQUILIZE THIS!”, WAS RECORDED IN 2015 AND LARGELY HAS A BIG CITY LIFE THEME. THEY ARE STILL A HIGHLY ACCLAIMED LIVE PERFORMING BAND.
